Balingup Hosts Leadership Forum
Balingup will host the popular Southern Regions Community Leadership Forum on the Thursday 20 and Friday 21 of October 2011. Proudly in its seventh year this years forum with the theme “Honouring Diversity in Community Leadership” will sell out quickly. The forum invites both experienced and aspiring community leaders and volunteers to attend,
and take the opportunity to learn new skills, meet like minded people, network and share successes as well as challenges. Held at the Balingup Town Hall and other venues around Balingup, a highlight will be the
Awards dinner on the Friday night to acknowledge and reward leaders who have been nominated by their peers for outstanding achievement in community contributions. This years Forum will feature Glenn Capelli a dynamic speaker delivers a message of creativity and innovation and thinking smarter, to audiences around the world. Ian Crawford who trains and coaches managers and leaders in Australia and internationally. He specialises in enhancing key competencies in developing / leading people and producing high performing teams. Mollie Macleod, who has specialised in assisting people to feel confident about speaking in front of others, and to use their voice to best advantage, Peter Darch recently awarded the 2011 WA Young Person of the Year is the Youth Development Officer for the City of Mandurah. Peter works as an advocate for people with disabilities and Theo Nabben, who is an experienced community development worker who has an insight into the challenges as well as the marvellous opportunities arising from harnessing the diversity within our communities. Workshops include “7 steps to high performing teams”, “Using more of your magic brain”, “Conflict, a stepping stone for opportunity”, “Communicating styles”, “Aboriginal family systems”, “Enjoy your voice and sound great” to name a few.
